Borrower’s Policy
The Carrington City Library is open to the general public but only registered borrowers may take material from the library.  Library cards are issued upon completion of an application.  The director reserves the right to discontinue service to anyone abusing the library privileges.

Library Cards
Free of charge to all patrons with mailing addresses within Carrington city limits. For all other patrons the fee is $25.00/year/family.

Loan Periods 
Books, books on tape (cassettes & CD’S) & videos – 4 weeks with 1week grace period following.  The fine is $0.10/day/item.

Damaged or Lost Materials
If a library item is returned damaged, and the extent of the damage is such that the item cannot be returned to the shelf for further circulation, the patron is responsible to pay for the cost of replacement plus a $5.00 handling fee.  The same applies to items that have been lost.

Computer Use Policy
All of our public access computers are filtered. Wireless internet is available.

*No Illegal Activities
*No Advertising
*No Pornography
*No Hardware Changes
*No Non-Library Storage Devices

There is no charge for computer use.

Donation Policy
We will gladly accept donated library material.  We reserve the right to place donated items in the library’s collection or use them in books sales.  All of the proceeds from the sales go to the public library.

Monetary donations are gladly accepted and much appreciated.  Donations in lieu of memorials can be designated funds.

Interlibrary Loan
If the Carrington City Library does not own an item that a patron is wanting, the patron may request an interlibrary
loan.  The patron will pay the shipping cost to return the item.
